The Land of the Living Skies is looking for a new Slogan

After a radio discussion with the CEO of Tourism Saskatchewan, Sheila Coles and her team from the CBC Morning Edition are asking Saskatchewanians to step up and provide a new slogan for our beautiful province. Gone are the days of the “Land of the Living Skies” and welcome is __________________.

Some of our personal favourites right now:

Saskatchewan: Come for the scenery, stay for the people.

Saskatchewan: Worth investigating.

Fearless Girl Stares down the Famous Wall Street Charging Bull

Last week, in celebration of International Women’s Day, a statue of a fearless young girl with her hands on her hips was installed in front of the famous charging bull of Wall Street. The statue was put there by the State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) to draw attention to the issue of gender equality among women in business.

“Today, we are calling on companies to take concrete steps to increase gender diversity on their boards and have issued clear guidance to help them begin to take action,” Ron O’Hanley, CEO of SSGA said in a statement.

We commend SSGA for this action, as Look is proud to support women in business every day.

Google Hangouts was getting too Slack for Users…

If you have been using Google Hangouts within the last few years… wait, no one has been using Google Hangouts within the last few years.

If your office is using a communication platform to chat one-on-one or in groups, chances are you’re using Slack to do so. While Google Hangouts used to be the “cool platform to use”, lately it’s been a bit of a mess for the user.

Until now.

Google recently announced that it is going to be revamping their Hangouts platform to be what it was always supposed to be: a business communication tool to complement consumer apps. And from what people have seen so far, the platform is solid. Using features that competitors like Slack are using, Google Hangouts will integrate with Google Docs, Sheets and Calendar, and have better video chat options for the user(s).

At Look we use Slack, but after reading about the new features in Google Hangouts, we might have to switch back…

Home is Where the Heart is

After 14 appearances at the Tim Hortons Brier, Brad Gushue and his team from Newfoundland and Labrador took the win this Sunday in the Canadian men’s curling championship, after beating out Team Canada 7 – 6. As Brad threw the final winning rock, the crowd erupted with cheers and tears as the team pulled it together for a big win at home.
